I had a blast photographing the annual sledding day for the Global Friends Coalition this weekend. Global Friends Coalition is a wonderful organization that welcomes and assists in integration of refugee (New American) families into our community, and I am happy to be working with them in 2017!

For some of these kids, it was their first time sledding! The hill was icy and super fast, and from the looks on their faces, I’d say they had a good time. 🙂

Thank you, Martie! I love doing it!

As part of my Project 52, I decided to head over to the Southgate Bonspiel and spend some time documenting this Grand Forks event. I still remember the very first winter we lived here (fourteen years ago now!) when my husband and I drove down Washington at night and saw this event. We had to stop and watch, as we had never seen anything like this. This local bar, Southgate, creates an outdoor curling rink in the parking lot, and every year they host a bonspiel. It is a hoot to watch, and I’m sure even more fun to participate in (especially as the day goes on and people have spent some time “warming up” in the bar)!

Fun side note, I was on a curling team two years ago – I really am becoming a North Dakotan!

GAH!! What to even say about these three gorgeous sisters?! Another wonderful family that I have been photographing for YEARS! I am so thankful for my awesome clients and incredibly proud that you have chosen me to photograph and document such important moments in your family’s life. Thank you.

Let’s get right to it. Introducing Vivienne! She is a lucky girl to have Vaya and Navelle for big sisters watching over her.

Oh Mary! You stole my heart immediately! The youngest of five, you are already so loved.

After photographing the Hurly family for so many years (since the oldest, Madelyn was a baby!) I couldn’t wait to meet the newest arrival, Mary. She did not disappoint. Mary knows what she wants already – food and to be wrapped, and we happily obliged. 🙂 Towards the end the big sisters and brother came home and we snapped a few sibling shots!

I think Mary looks just like a baby doll, don’t you?

Karina and Kyle were married at the new Romantic Moon Events Center in Moorhead, MN. They had a beautiful, intimate ceremony followed by a great reception! These two were totally fun to work with, and their day was just amazing and perfect in every way. It was an honor to be a part of it! Thank you, Savannah Hayes of In His Image Photography for shooting with me!
