Okay, finally time to catch up on my remaining sessions from before Christmas… yes, before Christmas.  I guess being pregnant is finally catching up with me, because I am tired!   My daughter started back at preschool this week (she goes once a week) so maybe I can get some work done and maybe even a nap!  Who am I kidding… I won't get a nap, but at least I will get some work done! 🙂

Sweet Seren has been on my blog several times in the past, and I just can't believe how much she has grown and changed since I met her when she was just a few months old.  She just turned two, such a fun age!  We had fun getting some playing shots as well as some more classic portraits.  We even got a group shot of the whole family, including Grandma and Grandpa while I was there!

Wow, what a change since the last time I photographed Seren.  She was just a little baby last spring, and now she is a whole year old!  I can't believe how much she has grown, and she is running now, too!  The other big change since our last session is the weather – last spring I photographed Seren as she experienced grass for the first time.  This time around I was there with my camera as she experienced our first big snowfall of the year!  Yay!

Here's Seren!

First of all I love the name Seren – her mom told me it means “from the starlight” – isn’t that beautiful?

Seren’s session was great.  Her mom was worried about whether her house would be a good spot for pictures.  That is a really common concern with a lot of my clients, actually.  I always tell people that I can make beautiful portraits anywhere, so we should do the session where the family is the most comfortable.  So we decided on an indoor/outdoor combo session.  When I walked into their home, the first thing I see is a gorgeous stained glass window, beautifully colored walls and some totally cute photo props – I was so excited!  As much as I enjoy photographing people outside, I also really love photographing them in their home, especially children.  It adds such a personal touch to the final portraits.  I think the portraits mean more to the families as well, because of that personal touch that you can’t always get in a studio or even at a park.  So go ahead, schedule a session with me in your home!

After we finished up inside, we went to the back yard where Seren got to play in the grass for the first time – and I got to be there with my camera!  She seemed to like the grass quite a bit!

Here are some of my favorites from Seren’s session – enjoy!

Another sister post!  I have photographed big sister Seren since she was just five months old, and now she has a little sister – Piper!  Piper just turned six months, and she is as cute as can be!  Between these two stunningly beautiul girls and the positively scrumptious light filtering through the leaves as the sun was getting low, I could have taken pictures for hours!

I was invited to photograph this awesome family right after Christmas – they were great!  You may recognize Miss Seren and her parents from two other sessions here and here.  This time Seren's mom surprised her parents with a family session.  This family is really spread out, some here in Grand Forks, some in California and some in New York.  I'd say it was a great time for a family picture.  This session was particularly fun for me because both brothers are photographers, one of which has a website you should definitely check out!

This family braved the cold and deep snow for some fun shots- enjoy!
